There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:1-5
Seven Things You Must Believe to be Truly Born Again
Many people who say a ‘simple” prayer and “let Jesus come into their heart” may be disappointed to find out that they aren’t really saved after all. It’s not enough to believe that God loves you and you must pray and accept His son as your savior.
There are seven absolutes you must believe before you are born again--with the evidence of a changed nature.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” John 3:16-21 (English Standard Version)
1. You must believe that God is the Father and that He exists.
5. You must believe that there is a heaven and a hell and that every soul that dies will go to one place or the other.
In the Old Testament, a lamb without spot or blemish was used to make blood sacrifices. The blood on the altar would push back the sins for one year. The Old Testament was showing us the seriousness of sin and that it could only be rectified by the shedding of innocent blood.
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Hebrews 9:22
We pray you believe and understand all seven things.
If you are ready to give up your old life and become a child of God, ask God to forgive your sins now. And ask Him to become your Father and Jesus to be your savior. The Holy Spirit will guide and teach you. Find a good Bible believing church nearby to help you to grow in your new faith.
After you pray to become a son or a daughter of God, you should notice that you have a new nature, in other words, your desires have changed. Be patient with yourself as you learn and grow in the grace of God!
Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation--1 Peter 2:2

1. You must believe that God is the Father and that He exists.
- God is not Christ-consciousness, Mother Earth, etc.
- God is the creator of everything and nature testifies of divine order
- God has absolute authority and is the Father. He is everyone’s Creator, but only those who are born again are His children.
- he was born of a virgin
- Jesus is synonymous with the Word of God and he has existed before his incarnation. John 1:1-5
- God is good and not vindictive. He is not a bearded old man waiting for people to make mistakes so he can punish them.
- He gave mankind dominion in Genesis 1:26-27. The reason bad things happen on this planet is because Adam and Eve disobeyed God and gave dominion of the earth to the devil. While God is sovereign, He will not overrule the will of a man.
5. You must believe that there is a heaven and a hell and that every soul that dies will go to one place or the other.
- Heaven is home with the Lord. It’s a good place where there is no sin and no sadness.
- Hell is not a party place. Hell is a place of eternal torment and separation from everything good. it is a dark place full of regret and weeping and torment. It is a place of self-condemnation--The incorruptible seed of the Word of God will bring eternal condemnation to those who reject Jesus Christ on earth. Hell is a place of no hope. (Luke 15:19-31)
- Infant baptism won’t guarantee a home in heaven
- Church membership doesn’t save either
- Only believing that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all unrighteous and that believing and confessing our sins makes us right with God.
- God gave every person a free will. His desire is that none would go to hell (2 Peter 3:9), but he will respect a person’s decision to go there.
- Good works won’t get us into heaven and being good people won’t either.
- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
